MATE PRECISION TOOLING  - NAMED MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR

Mate Precision Tooling, was named “2009 Manufacturer of the Year—Mid-Sized Company,” by the Manufacturer’s Alliance, (a US based Award board).

Mate was selected for its superior support to the Manufacturer’s Alliance and for exemplifying the true meaning of excellence through its openness in sharing experiences and information to strengthen the manufacturing community. The Manufacturer’s Alliance evaluated several criteria, including:

• Educational presentations to manufacturers
• Peer benchmarking programs
• Plant tours
• Publication of manufacturing articles
• Involvement in manufacturing-related organizations

Mate Tooling Solutions were invited by the MTA (Manufacturing Technologies Association) to a reception in the Members Dining Room at the House Of Commons on Wednesday 12th November. The host was Stephen O’Brien MP who was joined by Ian Pearson MP, Economic and Business Minister as well as the MP for Northampton South, Brian Bingley. Director Craig Letty can be seen shaking hands with local MP Brian Bingley.

Ian Pearson spoke about the importance of the UK manufacturing sector, business enterprise and regulatory reform.

Mate Tooling Solutions has been appointed "Sole Independent Distributor" for WILA PressBrake Tooling in Britain. While previously they were one of several authorised distributors operating in Britain; WILA has now decided to focus all their independent PressBrake Tooling Sales through Mate Tooling Solutions. This means any customer using a machine with WILA products can now contact Mate Tooling Solutions for Technical Support, advice and to order additional or replacement tooling. Likewise, anyone looking to purchase a new PressbBrake that utilises WILA Tooling can call on Mate Tooling Solutions for assistance in assessing their initial & ongoing tooling requirements. WILA in conjunction with Mate Tooling Solutions is also able to offer a wide range of conversion systems that allow users of older machines to reap the benefits of converting their existing machines to take WILA quick change tooling to increase production & improve accuracy.

Mate Tooling Solutions, one of the U.K’s leading suppliers of Punch Press Tooling, Pressbrake Tooling & Laser Consumables are proud to report that they have succeeded in the first stage of their expansion plans by the completion of a move into their new building in Northampton. The new premises were officially opened on 23rd June 2008. Future tooling presentations and grinding demonstrations are planned, along with customer training courses. The new facility will allow us to improve our service to customers, with a greater increase in stock, and faster delivery times. Improved service is also possible due to the installation of a new “Direct Order Entry System” that is linked into our supplier’s production area.

The new building has been planned with a view to reducing energy costs, needed to compete within Britain’s “environmentally friendly” business ethos. We will be implementing a new “environmental procedure” covering everything from recycling to looking at ways in reducing our energy needs and carbon foot print.

Further business expansion is planned for 2009

Mate Tooling Solutions has been nominated in 3 of this years Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards!

They were runners up in the "Innovation Category" with the judges stating that the company has "a good approach to linking new technology and processes". The Directors, Craig Letty & Barry Webster were presented with a certificate to recognise their achievement by T.V presenter Eamonn Holmes at this years awards ceremony.

Mate Tooling Solutions has represented Ophir Optronics in the U.K for almost 2 years now.
In this time they have increased sales of Laser Lenses and Mirrors significantly. This success
was recognised and rewarded at Ophir’s recent International Sales Meeting held in Jerusalem.

Directors Craig Letty and Barry Webster (seen here with Ophir’s European Sales Manager for C02 Optics, Roni Shahar), received awards for both “Authorised Key Distributor Status” and “Marketing Excellence” . The Marketing Excellence award was presented for the sales and promotion of the “Black Magic” range of lenses. These lenses have made a significant impact in reducing ongoing costs for some of the largest Laser users in the U.K. Not only have they reduced customers annual spend on lenses. They have also increased productivity on machines by increasing cutting speeds and reducing maintenance stops for lens cleaning and replacement. Mate Tooling Solutions, suppliers of high quality Punch Press Tooling, Laser Consumables & Pressbrake Tooling has recently been nominated in two categories of the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards 2006.
New Small Business of the Year 2006, and Entrepreneurial Business Award 2006.

To be nominated in two categories after just one years trading is a fantastic achievement, especially considering the size & quality of the other companies in the region that were being considered.

The judging panel uses many different criteria when considering which companies to put forward for nominations. Therefore we see this as real confirmation that the business practices we have put in place over the past 12 months are proving to be successful. We would like thank all those involved in the judging of the awards for recognising the hard work and dedication of everyone within the company throughout 2006. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, both existing and new for their support over the past year.
